Donald K. Corlew, Sr.
KINGSVILLE – Donald K. Corlew, Sr., 86, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
He was born October 1, 1937, in Ashtabula, the son of George Russell and Jennie (Anderson) Corlew and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.
A 1956 graduate of Ashtabula High School, Don then went on to honorably serve our country in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne. He served time in Korea and Vietnam and then also served in the Ohio National Guard.
Don married the love of his life, Blanche "Beanie" Lafferty on January 4, 1963, and together they shared many wonderful memories and adventures together, including managing several Little League teams in Kingsville.
Don owned and operated SOHIO Gas station in Ashtabula for many years. He then worked as a machinist for Rockwell Brake. Don enjoyed bowling and tending to his koi fishpond. He also umpired Little League Tournaments from Cleveland to Ashtabula for many years.
His survivors include his children, Jennifer "Christy"
