Jim Snyder of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on June 8, 2024, he was 73 years old.
Jim was born on March 1, 1951 and as a child attended Saint Mary's Grade School in Lancaster New York and then Christ the King Seminary, where legend has it, he had to read "The Iliad" in Latin. No longer considering Priesthood, Jim's path saw him graduating from Alfred University in New York and earning a degree in Horticulture. He went on to become a prominent businessperson and consultant in that field, often recognized as one of its key luminaries.
Jim married Donna Witt in 1997 and the Witt family lovingly embraced Jim from the start. He would affectionately become known as "The Father of Fun" by Donna's young adult children Jack, Tim, Jamie, and Dalton. Not only did he shine bright as a father-type-figure to them (Donna's first husband and their father, Jack, died suddenly in 1992), but he cultivated meaningful friendships with each of them.
