Guy J. Hansford
JEFFERSON-Guy James Hansford, 91, passed away on June 28, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born in Kerens, West Virginia on December 2, 1932.
Guy graduated from Parsons High School in 1951and was later inducted to the school's Hall of Fame. Guy received his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from West Virginia University.
Guy very proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.
On August 1, 1963, Guy married Carolyn Sue Ranson. Together they shared 61 years of love and happiness, being blessed with three sons and a lifetime of priceless memories together.
Guy was a biology teacher at Jefferson Area High School for 29 years, finally retiring in June of 1988. He loved his community and was always willing to help in any way possible. He was a past Mayor of the Village of Jefferson and a past Village Councilman; he served on the Jefferson Area School Board from 1990-1997. He was also a member of the Jefferson Exchan
