James E. Jenkins, 87, of Ashtabula passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Saybrook Landing.
He was born April 18, 1937, in Ashdown, Arkansas, son of the late Nelius and Gracie Lee (O'Guinn) Jenkins. He married Marilyn Piggee in Ashdown on November 5, 1955.
James worked in maintenance for many years at the sodium plant and then retired from Head Start. He enjoyed cars, fishing, doing yard work and playing cards.
He is survived by his children, Leslie Jenkins, Sandra Swinney, Bidgette Harrill, and Patrick (Myris) Jenkins; aunt, Louise O'Guinn; grandchildren, Reginald, Courtney, Rheanna, Patrick Jr.; greatgrandchildren, Re'Miya, Rebecca, Ryna, Royalty, and Reina
James was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn in 2023; son Dwight Jenkins; son in law, Dennis Swinney; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 12PM at Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio, with Pastor Emory Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memo
